Referring to my Spring Fever is Here…post, I’ve been working on our front porch and I can’t just show you the end results without showing you where we started with this project 10 years ago,
Tear off the skirting, raise and level them bones, board up a broken window to keep the bats out, create some temporary stairs and this is what it looked like;
and that’s not a dead cat, BTW it’s Spook, he still loves to take a snooze on the front porch 🙂 … later we replaced this front door and hired a crew to replace the old rickety porch. Scroll cursor over photos for captions below …..
He did a Great job, wish I had pictures of his progress,( all pics pre-blog up to this point ) then about 4 weeks ago, I painted the wooden rocking chairs and porch swing…
then it looked like this;
That’s when the fever really hit me and I decided to stain the deck and stairs…and heres how that went;
But that wasn’t enough so I kept going…
So can you guess what was next from this picture?
wait for it…………………………………………
you guessed it!!!!
But wait!…..There’s More…………….
Ok finally this is the end product……until next time…
I’m dedicating this post to my mother, who I know is smiling down on me from heaven and is so proud…Happy Mother’s Day to all
Anybody else out there feeling that spring fever? What projects are you working on? As you can see, we still got a lot of painting to do around here, not this weekend, its raining again, God bless! He seems to know when we need a break….:)

Thanks Jenifer, Love your Cottage Home as well, so bright and sweet, love the burlap window coverings!
It looks great; y’all did a great job on this house. Alot of hard work, but at the end it was worth it. It is amazing what a can of paint will do. Thumbs up for you and your family.
Thanks so much, yes it has been a lot of work, too bad we can’t fix it all with a can of paint, Love painting, it’s immediate gratification!!
So fresh and pretty! It’s very welcoming now….Christine
Thank you Christine, and you are welcome to visit again anytime!
An absolutely inviting front porch!
Thank you, Lauren, our home faces east, it’s a great place to enjoy the morning coffee and watch the sun come up….that is, if I’m up that early…:)
You are taking a proud old house and giving it a fresh life force. My hat is off to your ambition.
(I have painted lattice before. I can appreciate what you’re going through in those photos!)
Hi Cheryl, thanks for visiting and I enjoy your comment! Unfortunately we have more to do on the back porch, I hope to find a better way when we tackle that job!
Well Cindy, that is what alarms are for!! Not only for work, but so as to not miss that good stuff. Like sunrises and coffee:)
I really dislike alarms, a nice glass of wine in the evening perhaps….:)
Oh my word, this is totally amazing. I love your home and your porch is fabulous. You have done such a great job. It looks wonderful. Thanks so much for joining Inspire Me. Hugs, Marty
Thank You, Marty, you are a wonderful host, love your comments! See you next week!
I LOVE everything you’ve done. What a transformation! Seeing your sweet porch makes me want to get a house in the country. Unfortunately, I’m stuck in suburbia for the foreseeable future.
Thanks Jazmin for commenting and following on Facebook. Life is what you make of it…If you want that house in the country…you go after it girl!!! It took me 40 years to get here…it’s worth it! 🙂 Hope to here from you again soon!
WOW! That was really inspirational. We bought our home almost a year and a half ago and we also have many things that we want/need to improve. I better get on it!! 🙂
It truly makes me so happy to here that I inspired you, Good luck with your home improvements, they are so worth the effort!
Wow what a huge transformation. I can’t imagine how much time you spent painting — but it looks beautiful!
Thanks Lora, I don’t even want to try to add it all up, we do all painting with brushes and rollers, we prefer the quality look we get out of it, it takes many many hours but to us, it’s worth it!
That is an amazing transformation! I love your new porch!! Thank you for sharing it at What We Accomplished Wednesdays. I will be featuring it next week 🙂 Have a great weekend!
Hugs,
Deborah
